1 whole apple, core removed and roughly chopped
1-2 tsp citrus juice (lemon, lime, orange)
cinnamon to taste
nuts
dried fruit
candied ginger, or grated fresh ginger
other seeds and fruit as desired
Using the food processor, roughly chop the nuts. Add the rest of the ingredients and pulse until it is the desired consistency (very small chunks, not pulverized!).
Nuts: pecans, walnuts, sliced almonds
Seeds: hemp hearts, shredded flax seed, sunflower, pumpkin?
Citrus: lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, OJ concentrate
Spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger, cardamom?
Dried fruit: raisins, cranberries, cherries, figs, dates
Fresh fruits: cranberries. Softer fruits could be added after using the food processor and folded in (berries, pears, kiwi).
