Baked Apples

4 large tart apples
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Butter
Half & half

Wash and remove cores from apples, down to 1/2″ from the bottoms. Combine sugar and cinnamon and use it to fill the centers of the apples. Top with a dot of butter.

Place apples in pan with 3/4 cup boiling water and 2 tablespoons sugar. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes, or until tender but not mushy. Remove from the oven and baste several times with the pan juices. If the juices are thin, remove the apples to a serving dish and reduce the pan juices before glazing the apples. Serve hot or cold, with half & half.
