Cinnamon-Raisin Biscuits

2 cups flour (whole wheat pastry or mixed unbleached and whole wheat)
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbsp butter, cut in small pieces
1/2 cup raisins
3/4 cup milk

Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp milk

Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or food processor. Add raisins and toss well. Add milk and stir just until all ingredients are moistened.

Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead 4 – 5 times. Pat to 3/4″ thickness, then cut in 12 squares. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 11 minutes.

Combine powdered sugar and milk. Stir well, then drizzle over biscuits.
