4 fillet steaks, about 1 1/2″ thick
4 strips bacon

Remove meat from refrigerator at least an hour before cooking. Secure a strip of bacon around the sides of each steak; secure with a wooden toothpick. Butter each steak, top and bottom.
Preheat broiler. Broil each steak on each side, about 3″ from the broiler for 1 1/2″ steaks, for 7 to 8 minutes on each side. Remove the bacon before serving.
For 2″ thick steaks, broil 4″ from the broiler, for a total of 9 minutes per side, turning several times.
