Fruit Sauce

2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup sugar, or to taste
1 cup orange juice or equivalent

2 cups blueberries or other berries
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp butter

pinch of salt if desired

Stir the sugar and cornstarch together in a saucepan. Slowly add the orange juice, stirring to dissolve any lumps.

Add frozen or fresh fruit, and heat until the mixture boils. Continue stirring for one minute. The sauce should thicken and the fruit should soften.

Remove from heat and add almond extract, optional butter, and optional salt.

Serve warm or at room temperature. The sauce will congeal in the refrigerator, so will need to be reheated a bit to because sauce-like after storing.

2026 – good
