Hot Fudge Pudding

1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 to 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Optional: 1 cup chopped nuts
———
1/2 cup milk, more as needed
2 tbsp oil or melted butter
———
1/3 cup brown sugar
4 tsp cocoa powder
Optional: 1/4 cup chocolate chips
———
1 3/4 cup very hot water
1 tsp vanilla extract

Butter an 8″ or 9″ square baking pan.
Preheat the oven to 350° (325° if using a glass pan).

Mix the first six dry ingredients together. Stir in the milk and oil and mix to make a batter. Add more milk if needed. Spread the batter in your prepared pan.

Mix the brown sugar and remaining cocoa powder together. Add optional chocolate chips if desired. Spoon this dry mixture over the top of the cake batter.

Add the vanilla to the hot water, and pour this carefully over the mixtures in the cake pan.

Bake for 30 minutes. The will rise to the top and the sauce will form underneath.

Note: 2020 Good, a bit “flat”. Perhaps pour hot milk over the top instead of water?
