1 cup brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
8 ounces butter (2 sticks)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
8 ounces milk chocolate baking chips
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts OR 1 1/2 cups raisins
Cream sugars and butter, add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
Combine dry ingredients and stir in. Add chocolate and nuts.
Mold dough into golf ball size rounds, 7 cookies per baking sheet. Press down slightly. Bake at 400° for 6 minutes. Do not overbake. Let cool before removing from the pan. Yields 50 cookies.
